Wellbeing Week
To mark World Mental Health day, we supported Young Minds charity by raising awareness of looking after our Mental Health and Wellbeing.
# Hello Yellow is the work of the Young Minds charity to raise awareness of looking after young people’s mental health. As part of this, pupils have spent time decorating yellow t-shirts with positive wellbeing messages.

In addition to creating a positive atmosphere by wearing the Yellow t-shirts that they added positive messages to, pupils spent the week thinking about the 5 areas of Wellbeing; Take notice, Connect, Time for you, Give and Be active. They identified things that they do and would like to try in each area and tried hard to get their ‘5 a day’.
Pupils have tried new activities in each area.
Taking notice - mindfulness colouring, drawing cloud spotting, trying to solve rubix cubes, spending more time with pets, using flint and steel in forest school….
Connect – Making dances with friends, playing games, spending more time with family, taking to younger pupils during morning walk, making a new best friend….
Time for you – Visiting the swamp in forest school, cooking, drawing…
Give – Offered to help staff, making hot drinks for staff, listening to a friends worries….
Be active – Take the dog for a new walk, exercise at home, gymnastics, 3 legged jumping…
Pupils recorded their wellbeing activities and at the end of the week reflected on their wellbeing activities. The reflections show some positive information which has been captured in the following analysis.
From the scatter graph you can see that the year groups that tried more new things felt that it had helped their mental health.
From the scatter graph you can see that the year groups that spend more time than usual on wellbeing activities felt that it helped their mental health.
From the scatter diagram you can see the year groups who completed more wellbeing activities felt that it had helped their mental health.
Parents were encouraged to take part and use the information and tasks provided to support and join in with their children.
